Chapters 1-3
1. This means that being southerners often were very close with family and knew most of their ancestors, but they did not.

Chapters 4-6
1.This shows us that Boo Radley is nice sometimes. Everyone thinks that he is a creep who never comes outside.

Scout and Jem were going to write a thank you letter to the person who left the gifts in the tree. To their disapointment Mr. Nathan filled the hole in the tree with cement. Mr.Nathan's reasoning behind his decision was to keep Boo Radley from interacting with Jem and Scout.
The neir libel that Jem and Scout made was the snowman that they ment to look like Mr.Avery. Atticus and Miss Maudie thought it was funny at first, then they made Scout and Jem change it so it would be less obvious that it looked like Mr. Avery.
Atticus saved Miss Maudie's oak chair because he knew that it was her most prized possession and that it would make her happy if she had it.
When Scout asks Atticus about the blanket around her shoulders Jem realizes that it was Boo Radley that put it on her shoulders. Jem was shocked that this happend because he had no clue that Boo was out of the house.
Atticus is tellling Jem not to mess with Boo just because he put the blanket around Scout. Atticus thinks that Boo Radley is still the same person when he got locked up in his house. He is doing this for Jem's safty i think that Jem will listen to Atticus because he knows that he might get hurt
Atticus feels that he is doing the right thing by defending Tom Robinson because he is trying to set an example to Maycomb to stop racism. Also he want to do this to set an example to his kids to show that we are all equal.
When Uncle Jack came down to Maycomb and was going to stay in the house with Scout, Jem and Atticus. What he means by Scout is growing out of her pants he means that she is acting not her age. Uncle Jack said that because Scout was using naughty words that were only for adults.
Scout finds out that Aunt Alexandra looks down on Dill and his family because they are poor also, she calls Atticus a nigger lover because he is defending Tom Robinson
Scout learns that Atticus is most likely going to lose the case because they only have a black person word and everyone hates him.

Mr.Heck does not want to shoot because he is afraid that he will miss and shoot the Radley residence, and he knows that Atticus is better at shooting than him.
Heck was about to tell Jem about how Atticus was a great shot growing up, and he did not want Jem to know he was because he might start to try to be as good as Atticus.
He tells Jem to be strong; Mrs. Dubose is an old sick woman and that she does not know what she is doing. Also, that he did not mean to get them into this situation but it will be a very influential event in the future.

Aunt Alexandra does not like Calpurnia simply because she is black. She also thinks Calpurnia is a nocuous to the family and that she is not important.
I think that Aunt Alexandra is racist because even earlier in the book she questions why Atticus is standing up for Tom Robinson because he is black also she looks down on Calpurnia

A group of men came to Atticus' office and were about to kill Tom Robinson, Atticus was watching over Tom and the mob was going to hurt Atticus to get to Tom but, Scout,Jem and Dill come and they feel bad and leave.
